About Timesulin

Timesulin was established in 2011. Its goal was to create a product that would change the lives of insulin-dependent people and build a new standard of care for all with diabetes.

Timesulin is a replacement cap that turns any insulin pen into a ‘smart pen’ that shows how much time has passed since the last injection, resolving anxiety and fear for many with diabetes for whom missing a shot, or accidentally double dosing, can have dire consequences.

The idea for a simple solution came from the experiences of co-founder John Sjölund, living with Type 1 diabetes since age three. Taking insulin before every meal and at bedtime is so much part of his daily life that John often struggles to remember if he has taken his shot, or not.

In 2009 John gathered a team to develop a replacement cap for insulin pens that would show how much time has passed since his last injection. The solution needed to be simple. The result? Timesulin. A ‘smart cap’ that works with all major insulin pens, enhances safety, reduces anxiety, is affordable and very easy to use.

Today Timesulin operates on a global scale, aiming to help anyone living with insulin-dependent diabetes avoid low or high blood sugar symptoms and lead a better life.
