The Company
Timesulin is a brand of Patients Pending Ltd, a UK registered company established in 2011 to create solutions that will alleviate daily issues faced by people living with chronic conditions. Through a series of innovative products, the company is contributing towards building a new standard of care on a global scale. The company currently has a number of products in the pipeline that will reduce complexity for medical devices.
Timesulin, the first product from Patients Pending, was created in 2011 based on the need of one of the co-founders, John Sjölund, who has been living with Type 1 diabetes since age four.
Operating on a global scale, Timesulin aims to help anyone living with insulin-dependent diabetes avoid low or high blood sugar symptoms and lead a better, safer and more balanced life. The Timesulin ‘smart cap’ fits onto all major insulin pen brands and has a built-in timer to show how long it’s been since the user administered the last injection. Timesulin was designed and produced in Germany. Timesulin was launched to consumers in Europe in 2011 through a network of independent distributors. A global distribution network is underway for 2012.
The Timesulin founding team is comprised of CEO John Sjölund (currently using Kwikpen™ and Solostar™ insulin pens), a co-creator of Skype and an engineer from the MIT Media Lab - three entrepreneurs with a passion for making life for people living with diabetes just a little easier.

John Sjölund - CEO & Co-founderJohn has been living with Type 1 diabetes since age three, but this has not kept him from completing business school at the University of Jönköping in Sweden, relocating to South Africa to finish his Master’s thesis on entrepreneurship in the townships, completing the world’s longest ski race, Sweden’s Vasaloppet, the world’s largest cycling race, held annually in South Africa, The Cape Argus, or, most recently, the London Triathlon - which he did in aid of Diabetes UK. He has great control over his blood sugar levels, but often finds himself unsure of whether he’s administered his insulin shot or not. Because of this, Timesulin lies very close to his heart. It has changed John’s life and he knows that it will change the lives of other people living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes too. John holds a MSc in International Business from the University of Jönköping and lives in London with his wife and many, many Apple products. |
